Dr. Barbara Steffens is president and co-founder of APSATS (the Association of Partners of Sex Addicts Treatments Specialists). Established by pioneers of the trauma approach for treating partners, the APSATS is dedicated to the training and certification of Partner Specialists from a "Sex Addiction Induced Trauma" approach. Its Board members also advocate for the recovery and treatment needs of Partners of Sex Addicts, knowing that this is an under-served and often misunderstood population. APSATS was established in order to meet several goals: - Provide certification in the trauma treatment model for Certified Clinical Partner Specialists (CCPS) and Certified Partner Coaches (CPC) who meet APSATS's training and supervision requirements. - Serve as the leading organization partners turn to for resources. - Seek to improve the quality of care given to partners of sex addicts, and thereby decrease the incidence of secondary trauma. - Provide education, advocacy and seek to increase public awareness of the needs and traumatic effects experienced by partners of sex addicts. - Secure funding to meet these objectives. We hope other treatment specialists will partner with us as we join voices to provide improved responses to partners.

Endorsed by Barbara Steffens, author of "Your Sexually Addicted Spouse" How grateful I am for Francoise, Richard and their hearts to help partners of sex addicts heal from the trauma they experience! I am even more grateful that they have felt the call to share their gifts, insights, and encouragement for partners through this workbook, "Spouses of Sex Addicts: Hope for the Journey"! As you read through this workbook and start applying the wisdom and helpful exercises to your own experience, I hope you will know, as I do, that this book comes from their hearts, experience, and spiritual strength. The pages of this workbook are filled with appropriate and helpful information and opportunities for you to apply the materials to your experience, which will help you in your journey of healing. May you find in these pages a path for yourself as you join the journey of healing along with so many other wounded spouses. Those of us who are a little further along in the journey hold you in our hearts, thoughts, and prayers. You are not alone. Blessings and hope to you." - Dr. Barbara Steffens PhD, LPCC, BCC, CCSAS.
