Anti-Aging Magic Concoction
Over the years I have experimented with many nutrients to enhance my health. Attending and obtaining board certification with The American Academy of Anti-Aging and Functional Medicine, and my own experimentation and research led me to come several “protocols that work,” how I like to call them. Here, I want to share with you my “secret” of my morning routine.
First thing in the morning when I wake up, I drink magic concoction mixed in water consisting of:
- MSM powder 1 tsp
- D-Ribose powder 1 tsp
- IAG powder 1 tsp
- L-Carnitine powder ¼ tsp
I believe It’s very important to use it in powder form, as body is reacting and better absorbing nutrients that we taste, due to neuro-lingual response. These nutrients have in common that they all work on a cellular level, greatly assisting and improving metabolism in terms:
- Nutrients absorption
- ATP production
- Waste elimination
- Fat burning
- Cellular integrity and protection
Even that all these nutrients have in common by working on a cellular level, each have a slightly different action and function. Let’s examine them briefly:
Carnitine Burns Fat, Including Visceral Belly Fat
Carnitine is a potent fat burner because it does a COMPLETE JOB, by transporting fats into the cells to be used for energy, and removing the waste material at the end. It is important to have the same day Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids present, in ideal rations as found in EFA SIRT Supreme product, since Carnitine is the delivery system for long chain fatty acids. The less carnitine you have in the body, the fewer fatty acids that get into the cell, meaning you don’t burn them for energy. Instead, the fatty acids go into a depository and are stored as fat. A new research study in the journal Food and Chemical Toxicology illustrates this. Researchers gave a carnitine supplement to mice who were fed a high-fat diet in order to make them gain weight. In comparison to a group of mice fed a placebo, the carnitine group gained substantially less visceral and subcutaneous fat. Arabinogalactans enhance the effectiveness of viral nucleotide analogs. Daily injections of a conjugate consisting of adenine arabinoside 5'-monophosphate (araAMP, vidarabine monophosphate) and arabinogalactan (7.9 residues araAMP per molecule arabinogalactan), at a dose of 3 mg of araAMP/kg, into woodchuck carriers of woodchuck hepatitis virus (WHV) decreased serum levels of WHV DNA. A dose of 3 mg/kg of unconjugated araAMP was ineffective, while a higher dose of araAMP (15 mg/kg, 14 days) produced a slight drop in WHV DNA. After cessation of dosing with the conjugate, serum viral DNA levels remained depressed for 42 days. In contrast, after cessation of dosing with araAMP alone, WHV DNA rapidly returned to original levels (28).

D-Ribose is a simple, 5-carbon monosaccharide, or pentose sugar. It is used by all the cells of the body and is an essential compound in energy metabolism. Ribose also provides the structural backbone of our genetic material, DNA and RNA, certain vitamins and other important cellular compounds.
Who needs supplemental ribose?
Everyone needs ribose. It is an essential ingredient in stimulating natural energy production. Ribose is normally made from glucose (a simple 6-carbon sugar) through a metabolic pathway called the Pentose Phosphate Pathway (PPP) or Hexose Monophosphate Shunt (HMS). Unfortunately, in heart and muscle cells important enzymes that regulate the activity of this pathway are lacking. As such, forming ribose in heart and muscle cells is a slow process. This delay in ribose synthesis in heart and muscle tissues also delays energy recovery when energy pools have been depleted by disease or exercise.
What will ribose do for someone concerned about cardiovascular health?
Numerous medical studies conducted in the U.S. and Europe have shown that energy levels in the heart can be dramatically lowered by exercise, decreased blood flow associated with certain cardiac diseases, or by changes in normal cellular energy metabolism. What is the recommended daily dosage of ribose?
For energy enhancement, ½ to 1 teaspoon (about 2 – 5 grams) is generally adequate. Ribose is mildly sweet and completely soluble. It mixes easily with your favorite juice, milk or other cold foods to maximize athletic performance, or to keep energy pools high during strenuous activity, slightly larger doses may be required. Ribose should be taken just before and just after exercise or activity. For extended exercise, an additional 1 – 2 grams per hour of exercise or activity may be helpful.
It is beneficial to combine Ribose with Carntine, as Carnitine becomes more effective in the presence of sugar. Ribose helps the body actually make energy, while other supplements may help the body use energy more efficiently.
