Boundaries,Reliability,Accountability,Vault,Integrity,Non-judgement,Generous. The Anatomy of Trust, listen to what author, speaker, Brene Brown has to say about what it takes to be a marble jar friend and have marble jar friends.
I was reminded of this recently when my grandson called to tell me about a bad choice he had made; I agreed, and also reminded him that this was not all of who he is, one bad choice does not define us, it will hurt us and there will be consequences, apology and sincere amends to be made from a heartfelt stance. The willingness to earn the trust back and do the right thing. We are at heart, good will people, we do go astray, and as wired to be in relationship and community,it is our responsibility to make it right. Which my grandson was able to do in restoring his integrity and accountability to himself and others. Trusting ourselves is equally important, be generous with your misgivings and give grace knowing that we are humans that are not perfect, without holding judgment and while taking ownership.
